Principal Certification Program

This program is available at all five Concordia locations. This program is designed for individuals already holding a Master’s degree who wish to prepare for the Texas Principal Certification exam.

Students must have two years of teaching experience in public or private schools to become certified, and must have completed at least one year of teaching before doing the practicum in EDAD 5354. The program is comprised of 27 credit hours (10 courses). This specialization prepares students to sit for the TExES Principal Certification Exam #068.  A 16-week practicum is required. Graduate students selecting this specialization will:

  • Meet principal certification requirements set forth by the State of Texas.
  • Display ethical and Christian leadership skills necessary to help students grow in a healthy and productive manner.
  • Display all the skills necessary to be a successful administrator at private or public schools.
  • Be trained in federal, state, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete a practicum as an acting administrator at the campus or district level.

EDAD 5352 Principal as Resource Leader
EDAD 5353 Principal as Professional Development and Continuing Education Leader
EDAD 5354 Principal as Compliance Officer (practicum)
