Your Time Commitment

  • You'll attend class one evening per week for 4 hours.  Classes will be from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In order to allow you to complete the program in two years, we have designed an accelerated format. The class evening will be broken into two parts, with one class from 6-8pm and the other from 8-10pm each week. Expect an intense, learning filled evening!
  • Between classes, you should expect to spend 15-20 hours each week studying and preparing assignments.
  • Preparation includes reading, online work, study group participation, projects, and case study analysis.
  • This is an intense and demanding program. We've designed the schedule so that you can re-charge between semesters. Between semesters, there will be either a learning sabbatical week or a vacation period. During the learning sabbatical weeks, classes will NOT meet and there will be no assignments due. Faculty will be available to meet with you by appointment. Our aim with the learning sabbatical is to give you a space for reflection and integration. Vacation periods (e.g. winter holidays) are just that - time off for you.

My hometown is Houston, Texas.
As if my academics don’t keep me busy enough, I thought I would fill my spare time with some extracurricular activities at CTX, including Resident Assistant, Academic Coach for Science and Math, and aspiring parish organist.
The highlight of my time at CTX was definitely presenting the results of our Senior Biological Research Project at a Texas Academy of Science Meeting!
I think CTX is unique because the interpersonal relationships that students form with professors. The faculty and staff genuinely care about you as a person.
The professor that impacted me the most was Dr. Stevenson (chemistry) because he has encouraged me to take ownership of my education and perform at my best.
My advice to incoming students is to be prepared to "hit the ground running" on your first day here.
The experiences that I have had in my classes have pushed me to integrate my Christian beliefs into all aspects of my life. This integration has strengthened my faith throughout my experience at Concordia and developed me into a Christian Leader.
